In looking at the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2016 NFL Draft selection of Myles Jack, it’s tough not to be ecstatic that it went down as smoothly as it did.

Jumping up and down. That’s what every Jacksonville Jaguars fan is doing right now after the 2016 NFL Draft selection of Myles Jack in the second round.

There is so much excitement surrounding the Jaguars right now and, as can be expected, Jack will be well received. Daniel Lago and I weigh in to grade the Myles Jack selection.

Daniel Lago

Grade: A+

"Is this real life? Did the Jaguars really just end up with both Jalen Ramsey and Myles Jack? And all it took was a 5th round pick? I don’t think you could’ve conjured up a better scenario for the Jaguars and now they can go into the 2016 season with effectively three first round picks – Jack, Ramsey, and Dante Fowler Jr. The rest of the draft is gravy at this point. Coming away with arguably the two best defensive players in the entire draft is enough for me."

Luke Sims

Grade: A

"It was nearly unimaginable on day one that the Jacksonville Jaguars could walk away with both Jalen Ramsey and Myles Jack. Fast forward to the morning before round two and it still seemed unlikely that the Jags could land Jack. Then the Cowboys selected Jaylon Smith instead of Jack. Then general manager Dave Caldwell jumped up two picks to secure Jack. He’s a player that immediately makes the Jaguars a contender. He fits the defense incredibly well and can play either almost anywhere they need him to be. Just a stellar selection."

Next: What will Caldwell do in round 3?

Two A’s in a row and the Jaguars are rolling through the 2016 NFL Draft. It doesn’t even matter who else is selected (well, it does, but still) because the Jags have already hit two home runs.

As an aside, PFF gave it an A- for no real reason at all.
