The Jacksonville Jaguars have many needs to address in the 2016 NFL Draft and this four-round mock draft after much of the free agency spending will address the needs that general manager Dave Caldwell didn’t fill with veteran players.

It’s tough to build a contender in the NFL, even with all of the parity policies in place. The key to building a contender is the NFL draft and strong roster management.

Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell has done an admirable job righting the ship after the disaster of the Gene Smith era, adding quality piece after quality piece. The 2015 NFL Draft built on the successful 2014 NFL Draft for Caldwell. After 2016 free agency has cooled some, he’ll need to do well again for the Jags to keep building.

This four-round 2016 NFL mock draft will address those needed building blocks. The Jags can afford to draft the best player available but desperately need to address the defense over the offense. For this reason each and every pick here is on the defensive side of the ball. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Caldwell do this in the actual 2016 NFL Draft.

A slew of players that Caldwell could fall in love with are on this list. If they all happen to fall to the Jaguars, they could end up with a much improved defense, especially with the free agency additions so far this offseason.

Let’s dive in.
