Jaguars Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Week 3

Welcome to Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em — Jaguars Style. Here we will give you the lowdown on which Jaguar players to start and which ones to sit.

Start ‘Em:

Allen Robinson: A-Rob is coming off of his finest game as a pro, and if you started him last week, chances are you won your matchup. He recored 6 catches for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns. Robinson is going up against a Patriots’ defense that has given up an average of 96.5 yards, and 1 touchdown, to number 1 receivers. The Jaguars will target Robinson early and often. He is a must start this week.

Blake Bortles: Bortles too is coming off his best game as a pro; a game in which he threw for 273 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. Combine that with the fact that the Patriots are giving up an average of 296.5 yards and 2 touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks and you have yourself a juicy fantasy matchup. If your regular starting QB is injured or has a bad matchup, you should feel confident inserting Bortles into your lineup this week.

T.J. Yeldon: The Patriots’ defense is giving up a whopping 6 yards per carry and 108 yards a game to starting running backs. Yeldon’s carries increased last week and with backups Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson on the mend, this is the perfect week for Yeldon to break out and eclipse 100 yards rushing for the first time in his NFL career.

Possible Flex Plays: The Patriots are giving up almost 300 yards a game passing so far this year, so it’s possible that Marqise Lee or Allen Hurns could have big days along side Allen Robinson. If you need to play one of them in your flex spot, they could pay big dividends.

Sit ‘Em:

Jaguars D/ST: The Jaguars defense has been playing really well this year, but it hasn’t really translated to fantasy relevance. Couple that with the fact that the Patriots’ offense is on fire and you have yourself a really bad match up. If you have the Jaguars D/ST, it would be wise to try to find a better option this week.

Marcedes Lewis: Marcedes has 0 fantasy points this year, so you probably don’t have him on your roster anyway — but if you do, leave him on your bench. The Patriots’ defense hasn’t been giving up a ton of fantasy points to tight ends this year — Of course, having said that, Lewis will now probably have a huge day.

Good luck this week! Happy picking!
