"Editor’s note: It’s been a while since I wrote anything to Black & Teal (sorry for that, but now I am really working on some things) and even now I am just writing an intro for someone else’s work. You know, I’m not the only Hungarian Jaguars fan out there (luckily), and I want to introduce you a fellow very passionate Jags fan, Gergely Varjasi, who broke down every Blake Bortles pass play in his first half in the NFL. So I won’t waste the space here any longer, the floor is yours, Gergely. Zoltan Paksa"

Blake Bortles’ first half in the NFL is in the books. He came in and attempted to do work with a 30 point deficit against the Indianapolis Colts. Here’s a play by play analysis of what happened on each passing snap for the rookie quarterback.

1st drive – Starting from the Jaguars’ 20:

Play 1: Incomplete, drop.

Play 2: Nice pocket, Bortles finds Allen Robinson. Needed to move with the pocket, doing a nice job.

Play 3: Broken play, Jordan Todman and Luke Joeckel blew their block. Bortles able to release the ball without being flagged for an intentional grounding.

Play 4: Broken play. Scrambles for 14, avoiding tackles two times. Negated by penalty.

Play 5: Defensive offside. Climbed the pocket and took a shot in the middle. Enormous velocity. A little bit off target.

Play 6: Off target again, short for Shorts.

Play 7: A bit short again, intended target was Mickey Shuler. Conclusion of the 1st drive: Blake Bortles can feel and avoid the pressure. 2 broken plays, he managed to get positive/zero yards out of both. Missed his receivers 3 times.
