Blake Bortles

Overall Grade: +5.5

Pass Grade: +5.8

32/51, 521 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INT, 10.2 Yds./Att.

By every metric, standard and advanced, Blake Bortles was downright phenomenal. Bortles was the 4th-highest rated quarterback in the preseason according to PFF, despite only playing 96 snaps*. He did most of his work against second team defenses, but he also had to deal with horrific 2nd team offensive line play and 2nd team receivers and running backs. We’ve already talked plenty about how awesome Bortles was this preseason, but one stat really stands out: Bortles was 15 of 22 for 395 yards on throws that went over 10 yards. Henne was 3 of 9 for 54 yards on throws that went over 10 yards. Is there really any question on who should be starting week 1?
