FanSided Debate: All-AFC South Running Back

As posted earlier, NFL team editors around the FanSided network are getting together and compiling All-Division teams for an epic 32 team tournament to decide the most talented division in the NFL. Regarded by some as one of the worst divisions in all of football, the AFC South has some work to do to put together a team that can go far in the bracket.

We’ve already locked in on a quarterback, and now we need a running back.

The AFC South has been blessed by several outstanding running backs over the years. Edgerrin James, Fred Taylor, Maurice Jones-Drew, Eddie George, and Chris Johnson were all considered elite running backs at some point in time. With Maurice Jones-Drew’s departure, the division is not nearly as dominant as it once was running the football.

With few other options, we’re going to have to go with Arian Foster as our running back. Although he’s a risk coming off of an injury, Foster is easily the most accomplished runner in the entire division.  The Titans are likely starting a rookie in Bishop Sankey, Trent Richardson has been a bust so far in his career, and Toby Gerhart still needs to prove he can carry the load as a primary ball carrier.

Foster has run for over 1,200 yards in 3 of his 5 seasons, and he has 45 career touchdowns in 51 starts. When healthy, he’s the best all-around running back in the division.

Shouldn’t go with Foster here. Dude can’t stay on the field

so who would you go with? as much as i *think* gerhart will be pretty good, you have to go with foster.

Well if I wanted to stay faithful to My team I would say gerhart or even shoelace but in all reality. If Foster can play 16 games then he would be the guy. Also I think Bishop Sankey will make everyone in Tennessee forget about their drama Queen back they had all this time

foster’s last 4 years games played:

          2010 – 16
          2011 – 13
          2012 – 16
          2013 – 8

all in all i would say fairly durable. not much you can do about getting a herniated disc, like he did last year.
