The Jacksonville Jaguars report to Everbank field on Monday to begin their offseason program. Due to the new collective bargaining agreement, there are very specific rules about when and how often players and coaches can do certain things.

Technically all of the workouts are voluntary, with the exception of June’s 3-day minicamp. In all, there are 3 phases before the beginning of training camp:

Phase 1

  • Players are limited to strength and conditioning work, exclusively with Tom Myslenski and the strength and conditioning staff if they go on the field.
  • Players are limited to 90-minute sessions on the field
  • Players are only allowed 4 hours of instruction each day

Phase 2

  • Players are only allowed 4 hours of instruction each day
  • Coaches are now allowed to work with players on the field
  • Contact drills and team offense vs. team defense drills are still prohibited

Phase 3

  • Teams can now conduct their 10 organized team activity (OTA) workouts in addition to the mandatory 3-day mini-camp.
  • Live drills are still prohibited between defensive/offensive lineman and between wide receivers and defensive backs
  • Non-contact drills are allowed in 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 settings
  • Jacksonville’s OTAs are scheduled for May 27, 28, 29 and June 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 12 and 13
  • Jacksonville’s minicamp is scheduled for June 17, 18 and 19
