After almost no time at all, the Cleveland Browns matched the offer given to Alex Mack by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday.
Well that didn't take long: Browns are matching Jacksonville's offer sheet for C Alex Mack. Cleveland keeps Mack, per source.

While David Caldwell and the Jaguars tried to construct a contract that would make it difficult for the Browns to match, Cleveland just had too much cap space at the end of the day.
While it would have been nice to acquire Mack and plug the hole at center now, Caldwell has a bevy of draft picks at his disposal to try and solidify the interior offensive line. Ultimately, the Jaguars showed they are willing to pay for premier talent in the free agent market, and the mutual interest displayed by Mack illustrates how far the perception of the franchise has progressed since Shad Khan took over. One of the best players at his position in the NFL was excited and willing to play in Jacksonville. It didn’t work out, but it’s nice to see this aggressive of a move from the Jaguars.
