With most of the big names in free agency off the market, the time has come for some of the lower tier guys to sign for low money, short term contracts. While the figures aren’t out yet, the Jacksonville Jaguars got someone who should come pretty cheap in wide receiver Tandon Doss. Doss played a dual role as a receiver in shotgun packages and punt returner for the Baltimore Ravens in 2013. Doss accumulated 305 yards on 19 receptions last season behind Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones.
Another smart, low cost/high reward signing by Caldwell. RT @MikeGarafolo: Jags announce they've signed former Ravens WR Tandon Doss.

Jaguars announce the signing of WR Tandon Doss. Showed well as a punt returner with Ravens last season.

Doss had 4 drops on a total of 35 targets last season, and 12 of his 19 receptions came between the hashes as a slot receiver. It’ll be interesting to see what role he fills with guys like Ace Sanders and Mike Brown already on the roster, but this is a signing that should have no bearing on the upcoming draft. At 6 ’2″, Doss is going to be one of the taller receivers on the roster, so maybe he’ll be used more on the outside than he was in Baltimore. Either way, the Jaguars are still probably going to look to get bigger at receiver in the draft.
