With free-agency opening up in a few days, the Jacksonville Jaguars started taking care of a few of their own free agents. While the Jaguars don’t have any marquee free agents who will be in-demand when the market opens, they have a couple guys who have value and provide depth. David Caldwell went ahead and locked up Clay Harbor and Cameron Bradfield for two more years.
Clay Harbor showed some promise as a receiving tight end last year and is pretty reliable on special teams. Cameron Bradfield filled in at left tackle and was serviceable to solid in certain games. With the Jaguars seeking at least 3 new starters on the offensive line, it seemed prudent to try to have some continuity with a guy like Bradfield who can play tackle on either side.
Neither of these moves should stop the Jaguars from addressing these positions in the draft, and expect them to bring in several undrafted free agents to compete for these spots as well.
The Jaguars also signed offensive tackle Sam Young, who played one snap last year after being claimed on waivers.
