We continue our coverage of Fansided mock drafts this week as the Jacksonville Jaguars head into their final game of the season versus the Indianapolis Colts. The Jaguars have played astronomically better in the second half of the season compared to the first, and head coach Gus Bradley should be proud regardless of the outcome in week 17. Once the regular season is over, the attention turns to general manager David Caldwell and the 2014 NFL Draft.

Here’s what Erik Lambert over at our sister Fansided NFL Draft site NFL Mocks had the Jaguars doing with their first round pick:

#3 – Jacksonville Jaguars – Derek Carr – QB – Fresno State

Sporting a defensive mindset under Gus Bradley, the Jacksonville Jaguars will need a brash, outspoken quarterback to lead the offense.  Despite his recent dropoff, Derek Carr has plenty of physical ability and a mature mindset to the work it will take to get better.

I have recently been very transparent about my preference of UCF quarterback Blake Bortles over Derek Carr, and Carr’s performance in his bowl game versus USC didn’t do much to change my stance. Obviously the plight of our most recent first round quarterback and his inability to perform under pressure has made myself and most other fans reluctant to buy into a guy who’s biggest weakness right now is the same as Gabbert’s.
