Owner Bob McNair couldn’t stand it any longer. On the flight home from Jacksonville, he decided Gary Kubiak was finished. Wade Phillips will take over.
The Jaguars are striking fear into coaches around this league. If you lose to Jacksonville, your competence is questioned. The next guy walking the plank is Tennessee coach Mike Munchak. He was on thin ice last year and convinced Bud Adams to spend a lot of money so he could deliver a championship. The upcoming game with Jacksonville probably scares him a lot.
In my opinion, Gary Kubiak never got the talent in Houston to gel into a winner. He had as good a team as any coach could ask for. This season should have never happened. It did and he paid the price. Bob McNair made the right decision.
I am so glad we have Gus Bradley. I feel better as a JAG fan than the fans in Houston or Tennessee must feel.
Good luck to Gary Kubiak and best of health as well.
