What we really learned in Houston

Jerry Sullivan is a master coach. When I saw Ace Sanders catch the slant pattern for 50 yards, I thought of Cecil Shorts catching the slant pattern against Indianapolis last year. When I saw Cecil Shorts make critical catches, I thought we might see Ace Sanders begin to produce like that next year as well. Ace Sanders may have better hands than Cecil. If we add in Mike Brown and maybe, just maybe Justin Blackmon plus another new draft selection, Jerry will keep the pipeline of receivers flowing. I hope Jerry Sullivan stays on as our receivers’ coach.

Denard Robinson throws a nice ball!  Denard has not found a home in the offense yet and I don’t know if he ever will, but he did throw a nice pass on Sunday. I get the sense that more and more wildcat formations are in the works and this one play was just a test case.  I would give this test case a passing grade and a green light to try more.  I am looking forward to seeing more of this package unfold.
