What we really learned in Houston

HoustonGus Bradley was a great hire. I know he has a terrible record and I know we are last in a lot of statistical categories, but Gus is all about building a culture of winning rather than simply winning.  What is the difference? A culture of winning is what the Patriots have. They can start rookies and off the street guys and it still all hangs together.  If Gus had the Texans and Kubiak had the Jags, Gus would have won easily and the Jags would be a mess.  Gus never looked silly to me when he was preaching his philosophy during the darker days, but he is doing a great job. The winning culture is taking root from what I can see.

Chad Henne is auditioning for 2014 backup QB. I don’t know who the Jaguars will draft next year, but a QB is high on the list. I have a feeling that Chad is doing enough to stay on the roster as the backup. It isn’t that he is improving or may not be the best available, but he is making the decision to keep him look like an easy one. With a better offensive line and a running game and some improvement in the receiving group, Chad will be ok as a backup.
