The final preseason game is behind us and the Jacksonville Jaguars have to make several tough decisions on who to keep on the roster for the regular season. Most of the starters are set but rotational players and backups are up in the air especially with some of the performances over the preseason. Here’s our final prediction for the opening day roster.

Jordan Todman gave David Caldwell and Gus Bradley a lot to think about. I still have Todman making the roster but I added Justin Forsett back onto the team. I think the team will let go of one of the two running backs when Justin Blackmon comes back from his suspension.

I have two of the new pickups – Will Blackmon and Kyle Knox – making the roster. Caldwell signed them quickly for a reason and I think both played well enough Thursday night to warrant a roster spot.

Andre Branch hasn’t done anything this preseason to inspire confidence in his ability to rush the passer. Caldwell has no reason to keep him on the roster, even though cutting him will mean losing the investment in a second round pick made by the last regime. Branch only makes the roster if the Jaguars need a body in the defensive end rotation.

I had some hope that Matt Scott might supplant Chad Henne as the backup quarterback, but his play against the Falcons showed he’s not close to ready to start an NFL game. He’ll be stashed on the practice squad and should develop for a chance to play next year.
