As training camp begins it’s important to remember that it’s been a long time since we’ve watched any meaningful football. It’s easy to get caught up in individual plays during camp and try to overanalyze how a player performs from practice to practice. These guys are in shorts and it’s silly to try and presume anything before the pads go on and contact starts.
With that in mind let’s look at some of the observations around the internet for the first day of training camp and overanalyze them.

Crap, looks like we’re going to be a boring, run-first team again.
Mike Harris picks off Gabbert pass in flat for TE Lewis and takes it to house. Let second-guessing debate ratchet up.

Well Gabbert sucks again.

Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts actually estimates 20 balls thrown his way and 15 catches: "There were no drops, now."

And Cecil Shorts is awesome.
There’s a long way to go until the regular season starts, but it looks like there are reasons to get excited (mainly Cecil Shorts) and reasons to be skeptical. What’ll be more important is who starts getting more and more reps as training camp goes on.
