The biggest question mark for the Jacksonville Jaguars is at quarterback. Questions about the ability of Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert abound, and rightly so. The Jaguars simply don’t have an answer for the game’s most important position.
This offseason the Jaguars have taken steps to address that. Henne and Gabbert are still considered the front runners but names like Jordan Rodgers, Matt Scott, and now Mike Kafka (you know, that guy cut from the Patriots in favor of Tim Tebow) continue to nip at their heels. With the potential of Scott, the still raw potential (potentially hopeless?) of Gabbert, and now with Kafka coming, the Jaguars have a lot of upside at the position. The Jaguars are looking stacked.
The question mark remains. Who will play? Can they carry the team? Can they lead the offense? Hell, can they complete at least 60% of their passes? All of that is important, but in an offseason of transition the Jaguars are drawing in a lot of potential. That potential should not be overlooked. I’m excited about how this position is shaping up for the 2013 season and I hope that we’ll be able to see some development out of at least one of the guys. The position is wide open, but at least there’s the opportunity for one of them to show that they deserve to be in the NFL.
The question is: who?
