10. Jaguars quarterbacks — Blaine Gabbert would really have to blow this opportunity andChad Henne would really have to have a good camp for Gabbert not to be the opening-day starter, I believe. Undrafted rookie Matt Scott could make the team as a third option, and if things go poorly for the veterans and the rookie shows well, he could get a chance at some point.
Well, it sure didn’t take long for former New England Patriots defensive tackle Brandon Deaderick to find work, as Deaderick was claimed off of waivers by the Jacksonville Jaguars promptly after receiving his walking papers from the Patriots. Some were surprised by the timing of the release, but I’m not. Deaderick received significant playing time down the stretch last season, but he was mostly part of the problem at DT rather than part of the solution due to his inability to effectively rush the passer. Overall, Deaderick was a subpar player for the Patriots, as Armond Armstead and Tommy Kelly were both clear upgrades over Deaderick.

Defensive backs coach DeWayne Walker is the classroom instructor, but on the practice field, it’s veteran safety Dwight Lowery.
