Will the “special” teal jerseys look like this, or will they be even more of a throwback? Source: Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports
The Jacksonville Jaguars have revamped their logo and are set to unveil their new Nike designed uniforms before the NFL season begins. Jags president Mark Lamping has announced that the team will be keeping a teal jersey as a special alternate. This is what he had to say while speaking at a fan forum:
The idea was to continue to have teal be a part of every uniform that we wear, and that that teal jersey would become our version of that Notre Dame green jersey. Notre Dame has a green jersey they wear occasionally. You don’t know when they’re going to wear it, but when they bring it out, there’s tremendous support and it gets a lot of attention.
This is some pretty good news. For those of you that will miss the teal, it’s good to know that it will be coming backon occasion. Further, it finally gives the Jags a chance to bring back a throwback type jersey like some of the older teams have. Fortunately, nothing the Jags have had in the past is as ugly as the stuff the Pittsburgh Steelers occasionally wear.
