Star Lotulelei Cleared To Continue Workouts

Star Lotulelei has gone back to Salt Lake City to see a specialist, and he has reportedly been cleared to continue draft workouts.  For now, it looks like missing out on the combine is the biggest concern that the star Utah defensive tackle has.

While his left ventricle was pumping at just 44%, there are a number of factors that could have contributed.  The source says he hopes that it was just dehydration, too much sodium, or weight loss that had caused his exam to come off as abnormal.  For a near guaranteed top-3 pick, let’s hope that it wasn’t something more serious.

Earlier on Monday we outlined just how far Lotulelei could fall in the draft due to this medical situation.  I said that more information was needed before he starts falling down draft boards, and if this is nothing more than a result of changes to diet and weight loss, then we should still see Lotulelei high on mock drafts.  He still has his Pro Day to prove to scouts and general managers that this was just a fluke and he is ready for the NFL.
