NFL Mock Draft 2013: Jacksonville Jaguars Select...

Bjoern Werner.

You may be tired of seeing #95 from Florida State going to the Jaguars by now – he’s easily the most mocked player to the Jags – but there is some truth to why he keeps being put in black and teal.  Werner is a good pass rusher who should make the jump to the pros pretty easily.  He’s athletic and he is growing into the game very well.  Our own David R. Johns ran down the most common picks for the Jaguars, and I think he hit it on the head when he said Werner was a “solid” pick but there’s still something that doesn’t make it feel perfect.

Despite this, is still giving the Jaguars Werner at number two overall.  Their weekly mock is a good one and has had anybody from Barkevious Mingo to Star Lotulelei going to the Jags, but Werner has been attached to pick #2 a number of times.  Here’s the reasoning:

Werner is ready to step in from day one and be a contributor. He was one of the most consistent pass rushers in college football this past year and he is still learning the game.

As noted, Werner is still learning the game. Dave made a point of noting his high ceiling.  Is there something off about Werner or we just wary of a guy who is so about potential?
