The Fansided 2013 NFL Mock Draft has hit the interwebs again and the Jags continue their defensive focus by picking Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah.

Lotulelei is the best ranked DT heading into the draft and the Jags could really use an upgrade.  Writer Josh Sanchez has a very good point in his analysis of the pick,

Jacksonville was once known for their stud duo of defensive tackles and it is time to rebuild that. Lotulelei is an immediate upgrade on the line and would make up for the potential loss of Terrance Knighton in free agency.

Having a pair of defensive tackles like John Henderson and Marcus Stroud would be amazing for the Jaguars.  The tandem of Tyson Alualu and CJ Mosley/Terrance Knighton simply has not been much of force and the Jags could use an upgrade.  It would be nice if the team had a defensive front four that was actually effective, rather than ineffective and a large part of that is the push up the middle.

The Jags take Lotulelei in this mock despite QB Geno Smith still being on the board.  Interesting.  Thoughts?
