Bob Babich Hired as Jaguars’ DC

Per Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, the Jacksonville Jaguars have hired Bob Babich as their new defensive coordinator.  Babich was speculated to come to Jacksonville following the hiring of head coach Gus Bradley.  Bradley and Babich spent time together at North Dakota State University when Babich was the head coach and Bradley was an assistant.

Babich brings familiarity to Bradley and should help with the transition of implementing a new defense.  Recently Babich has worked for the Chicago Bears as the linebackers coach.  Lovie Smith (then the St. Louis Rams’ defensive coordinator) took him from NDSU to St. Louis to coach linebackers back in 2003.  He has previous defensive coordinator experience with the Bears from 2007-2009.
