The Jacksonville Jaguars and new general Manager David Caldwell have reached terms for a contract according to Adam Schefter:
As @jayglazer reported, Jaguars and Dave Caldwell have agreed to terms on a new contract to make him Jacksonville’s new GM.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 8, 2013
Caldwell has informed the New York Jets that he will no longer be a candidate for their GM vacancy. This comes after Caldwell was reported to have been asked to a second interview with the Jets earlier today.
With Caldwell locked up now, the Jaguars should be turning their attention toward retaining or firing head coach Mike Mularkey. Reports are saying that Mularkey will be on his way out to make room for likely successor Greg Roman. Roman is the offensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers currently.
Keep checking back as more things develop for the Jags.
