Goodbye, Kevin Elliott


Kevin Elliott has been waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars today.  Just six days after starting in place of injured Cecil Shorts III, Elliott has been deemed expendable.  His place is being filled by practice squad offensive tackle Austin Pasztor.  Elliott was having an underwhelming season after going undrafted in April.  He had a number of drops and frequently looked out of position.  His 10 receptions for 108 yards was being surpassed by recently signed Jordan Shipley despite Shipley only being with the team for four weeks.  Elliott simply wasn’t panning out.

Elliott was following a trend of Jaguar rookie receivers underperforming.  GM Gene Smith must not have seen the potential that was flashed during the preseason translated to the regular season.
