The Jaguars worried about a Lisfranc injury that may put running back Maurice Jones-Drew out of commission for the season but received good news that his injury is nothing more than a foot sprain.
While the news is good, Jones-Drew should miss a couple weeks waiting to heal. The sprain is a vast departure from a Lisfranc that would remove the Jags’ biggest playmaker and require surgery.
While the team will have to muddle through without Jones-Drew for a couple weeks, it will give Blaine Gabbert the opportunity to shoulder the responsibility for the offense and prove if he is the franchise quarterback the Jags want him to be.
