The Jaguars are returning to black jerseys for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears. For the first time since 2009 the team will be back in black. The team used to use black as a popular alternative jersey in the mid 2000s before scrapping it back for the teal that they had grown famous for. I have always been a fan of black jerseys and think that the Jags have looked very good in their darker colors in the past.
Whether or not you think it’s a good idea in the Florida heat…well that’s a different discussion to be had.
This offseason it was said that Nike was set to debut new jersey with black as the primary color for the 2013 Jaguar season. This time we’re getting a jersey that looks mighty similar to their current jersey, just with black as the primary color instead of teal. While we’ll be holding out hope for some awesome jerseys from Nike, for now we’ll just have to hope that we have some degree of success in the new duds.
