Wide receiver Laurent Robinson, cornerback Kevin Rutland, and special teams ace Montell Owens all passed concussion tests this week. Robinson, Rutland, and Owens left last week’s game with concussion symptoms. Owens is a crucial part of the special teams unit (even if they aren’t that special right now) and plays at a Pro Bowl level consistently. Rutland provides depth to a defensive backfield that has been marred with injuries and poor performance. The most crucial return may be Robinson who is leading the team in receptions with eight. With all the focus on concussions throughout the NFL lately, it’s nice to have some players back – especially on an injury-plagued team.
All three will return to practice this week.
