One of the most frustrating things about Gene Smith is that he rarely makes such a move. He likes trading for draft picks, he likes finding diamonds in the rough, and he doesn't like being aggressive in free agency...it's aggravating and I think it will be the reason he gets fired at some point (he won't last forever after all).
