I figure most of them are people who only consider the record, yet not the extenuating circumstances that led to the record. Maybe I’m making it out to be more than what it is.

Very good points. I think it is because he always seems to be on the verge but the pieces have yet to come together. I could be wrong of course, but I’m guessing at what the poll indicates.

I don’t understand the overwhelming disapproval of GM Gene in comparison to Mularkey, Bratkowski and Tucker. It’s because of Smith that Mularkey is here, thus he should be credited with the ensuing hiring of Bratkowski (who so many are in favor of) and Sullivan (who so many are happy to have as our WR coach, including myself). I can’t wait until we become a consistent winner, so all the Gene doubters can be silenced. If we become a perennial Super Bowl contender, Gene will deserve a large part of the credit. He not only is responsible for our new offensive staff, but he is also responsible for all but 6 players (MJD, Lewis, G. Jones, D. Smith, Meester and Mathis) being a Jaguar. It just doesn’t make any sense to me.
