Lee Evans had the best career stats out of all the WRs on the roster. I guess it’s case by case huh? Anyways we do agree on something…if this team is 1-4, 0-5…come week five Henne will be the starter.

Actually that’s how most decisions are made, you go with the guy with the better career and stats. You wouldn’t put a guy who has thrown around 10 regular season passes in his career with three picks ahead of a guy who has started and carried an offence to seven wins, unless you are insane. Palmer is trying to make the 53 he isn’t challenging Henne. Henne won’t be the starter week one but if Gabbert hasn’t improved by week 5, Henne will start. Wins mean more than developing a QB. Again you are putting waaaaaay to much emphasis on a pre-season game.

According to your logic why even have training camp? Let’s just look at everyone’s career numbers and decide the 53 that way.
I don’t hate Chad Henne. I think Henne is a very capable back up quarterback, but if someone can honestly do the job better that person should have the opportunity to win a job. Create competition at every position to make everyone work harder and have a strong 53. OR we could do what the old regime did and just hand out roster spots because that’s served us so well in the past.
You might need to go read a little closer my friend. Nowhere did I say he’s arrived. Seriously…go back and read. I highlight the good and the bad.
