Blackmon’s 4-Year, $19.5 Million Deal

Justin Blackmon will sign a deal with the Jaguars for four years and $19.5 million.  The Jags finally lock up their first round selection (5th overall) and end the holdout that has caused him to miss the first week of training camp.  No news yet on language pertaining to off-field incidents, but I am guessing that will either be addressed or discovered as more details about the deal are revealed.

Getting Blackmon to camp will help the offense as they work to install new schemes and approaches following a dismal performance in 2012.  The team will focus on getting Blackmon the ball and making the revamped receiving corps with Mike Thomas, Cecil Shorts, and Laurent Robinson involved.  Blaine Gabbert needs weapons, and with the signing of Blackmon, he just got one more guaranteed.  He should be worth every single penny the Jaguars give him.
