MJD Definitely Will Not Show Up To Camp

In “news” that shocked nobody today, we have learned that Maurice Jones-Drew will not be showing up to training camp.  There has been heavy speculation that this would be the case for a long period of time, but it is now confirmed.  Despite MJD missing camp, Mike Mularkey and Co. will probably have plenty to work on while evaluating the roster and getting the team ready for the preseason and season opener.

MJD has a chance at camp to make an impact on the new members of the team and on the rookies who will likely be with the team for years to come.  His holdout, now official will likely result in nothing more than him falling behind and having a season just before his contract year that does little to incentivize the Jaguars signing him even longer following 2012.

Here’s to hoping he changes his mind or comes back in time for the preseason.
