@KeenanJ I forgot to add the assistant head coach part there, good catch.
I don't think that Tucker will be getting a lot of calls to be a head coach for a couple years. His time as the interim in Jacksonville wasn't super positive (the Bucs game was nice though). He'll have to prove that he is a really, really good defensive coordinator for a couple more years before a team really asks for his services.

Especially if he can't run an offense. And based on 2011, it looks like he can't.

But if he gets a job, then good on him! He's a stand up guy and teams would be lucky to have him.

This, hands down, is the most overlooked aspect of this offseason for the Jaguars. I really believe that by retaining coach Tucker and giving him the assistant HC role also is going to be beneficial, not only for the defensive players, but also HC Mularkey as his job becomes that much easier by having somebody such as Tucker to refer to when it comes to defensive matters. Now Mularkey can put all of his attention on putting the offense together. Even outside of Tucker, the coaching duties have been delegated well and should make for a stable enviroment for the players to develop in and not be constantly concerned about looming uncertainties when it comes to the coaching staff. My only concern, which is very premature, is how that holds up over the long term as our coaches, especially Tucker, pursues other opportunities. The last thing that I want to see happen is for us to have to endure a carousel of coordinators, that was so prevalent of the Del Rio era. Last year put the importance of coaches in perspective for me and I don't ever want to see what happened last season happen again.
