I’d like to say three things here.

    1) I passionately dislike the Coples pick. I’ve read from several sources that he has motivation issues and I don’t want a player like that being a Jaguar. I don’t know why but I get a Albert Haynseworth vibe from him.

    2) If RGIII falls that far, Gene should be in a prime situation to trade back. Teams such as the Chiefs at 11, the Seahawks at 12 and the Browns at 22 could be teams that could trade up to get him. The Browns being the best option because they’d have to give up the most to trade up and we’d still be in position to get a good player at 22 and add more picks to either add depth or be used to move around later in the draft. It’d also make sense because if they were to pick Richardson at #4, trading up to get RGIII would be similar to what the Bengals did with Green and Dalton last year. Different scenarios but comparable all the same.

    3) If Matt Kalil fell that far and we didn’t pick him, I’d be shocked. While it would go against my suggestion made in number 2 above, if I had to choose between getting the best tackle prospect in the draft or trade back, I’d take the tackle.

Honestly, I don’t see RGIII or Kalil falling that far but you never know, anything could happen.

@KeenanJ It’s a long way to the draft, thankfully. I also contemplated the same things you did when making the mock, but it just felt right. Yeah, that’s no real reason for something, but hey it’s a mock after all. Look for updated versions from me and the other writers as we get closer to the draft. Especially after free agency.

I look forward to it. I especially would like to see the ones after free agency, the combine and all the pro days have taken place. I think that’s usually the best time to come up with the most realistic mock drafts.
