I forgot to include G. Jones in the group of older vets that might want to keep on guard going forward for his spot on the team. I doubt Bolen is the player to unseat him, but at some point in the near future, his place will be challenged by some talented youngster.

In my opinion, I'd say the foundation has already been built. So in my eyes, I think they need to build upon the foundation that has already been established. What I'd like to see is the rookies, mainly Gabbert, Rackley and Prosinski make progress. The younger players, such as Monroe, Cox, Knighton and Alualu continue to establish themselves as core players of this team. The younger vets, such as Poz, Session, Landry, Coleman, Lowery, Mincey and Nwenari continue their superb play. And lastly, see how long the older vets in Mathis, Meester and Roth can continue to provide solid performances. I think the only players that are going to have to prove they belong from now until the beginning of next season is Mathis and Meester. I say that because with them being two of the longest tenured players on the team, their replacements are probably being searched for and it's up to them to stave off any competition that comes their way. The only young players in their shoes are J. Hill and J. Dillard. Because it's almost a gurantee that the receiver position will be addressed this offseason and eventually it'll come down to a numbers game and someone has to be the victim of the system. Lucky for them, the offseason is still months away and as you said in this article they have a lot of football to prove that they belong.
