    The assessment by Mel Kiper was fair, as you say, until the end. “A corner also could have been used.” I think Rod Isaac would argue that a corner was drafted. Mel acted like he doesn’t even exist. Other than that, I agree that, while the Jaguars perhaps didn’t improve much in the near term, their long-term outlook is pretty good for this draft.

      I’m excited about Rod, but it would seem that his realistic ceiling is a good “nickle” corner. His size kind of limits him to that. With Rashean aging and Cox not yet showing the capability of being a #1/shutdown corner, I think Mel is saying that we could have used an outside corner.

        This was a pretty weak draft for for a potential #1 corner. Also, that’s not what Mel said. He said “a corner,” not “a #1/outside corner.” Just because Mel didn’t know who he is and his potential isn’t as high as Patrick Peterson doesn’t mean he doesn’t exist.
