That's some great background info on Courtney. I made a correction in the article.

Also, in regard to Knighton, I am still a big believer in him. I have confidence that he will re-emerge and maybe it is that he's just not quite in full speed "game shape" yet. But for the progress we saw throughout his rookie year, I think it was safe to say that many were expecting him to be a very visible presence from the start of the year - which he has not yet been.

Thanks for this piece, I have been telling Kuharsky the same things all week. One side note: Greene was a 7th round pick of the Seahawks in 2009, and a guy that was mentioned as a possible third round selection before showing stiff hips and poor ball skills in offseason workouts, despite solid timed speed (4.5) and good strength (21 reps). He is certainly under the radar to the average fan, but he was exceptionally productive at Rutgers and fans of that program remember him fondly, if somewhat hyperbolically, as "85% of our rush defense for three straight years".

Also, word is that Cox's foot injury has been a factor in his non-development during this campaign, and I can't agree with you with regards to Knighton. I think he remains a very good player, but the Jags front seven was gassed in the San Diego game due to the constant turnovers on the part of the offense. His slackening play, and that of the defensive line in general, was more the result of a lack of quality depth. Landon Cohen is our only capable reserve, and he is new to the team. Jeremy Mincey can only play tackle on pass downs and furthermore, the Chargers have a massive, physical interior line.
