I hate being called a wuse! This is for Zoltan!

The Larry Hart Report

After Zoltan wrote that Larry Hart wasn’t living up to off-season hype, I looked through the game pictures.  I found some interesting game action I thought I would share.

Hey Zoltan, I'm looking for you!

Larry Hart came in early in the second quarter. Miami still had their starters in. Larry got to face off against Jake Long. Let’s see how he did.

OK Jake... here I come

Zoltan thinks I'm a wuse (* a feeble or effeminate person)

From what I saw in the pictures, Larry Hart is a high energy rookie with a variety of moves. I would have to say he looked good in limited action. Placing him against Jake Long was a good move by the coaching staff. There are plenty of good left tackles he will face. Best to get a good sample in your first few games.  I think Larry Hart will do ok this year.

If the success of the Jaguars can be raised this way; I’ll call out 10-15 players after every game (haha)

Love the post Terry! I hope Larry will live up to the high expectations.

ive been following the entire offseason closely..when were the high expectations placed upon hart? Alualu? yes. Kampman? yes. hart was a 6 round pick whom jaguars fans would love to see produce in his rookie year and is someone who seems to have some upside. but high expectations? i dont think that is the consensus among jaguars fans (if vic saying that he thought hart looked good is what your referring to then..that would require a whole new discussion)

I watched this matchup and I thought Hart did alright. He definately made Long work. I thought he showed more power this week compared to last weeknin Philly.

    Brian,

You are right on target, a 5th rounder. I think the hype on Larry Hart started with the positive impressions he made on the coaches and reported on other web sites. I am not sure we blame Larry for doing well. He is learning and showing promise. Let’s just accept that and wish him well. A 5th round guy rarely emerges as a DE star in the rookie year. It is typically a two year learning curve.
