Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Miami - Defensive Line play

Sometimes teams target rookies with plays. Miami tried running up the middle and found some success if it weren’t for Kirk Morrison. Captain Kirk can come out of nowhere to make a play. Here is Rick Waters up the middle and almost breaking it.

Ricky heads up the middle.

and emerges from the pack. Is anyone there to make a play?

Kirk Morrison flys in and shuts it down

I am a bit worried that with Tyson in the middle, then good blocking could spring the runner up the middle. I worry less about that with Kirk Morrison playing MLB.

Thanks for stopping by. I was sitting in the rain with a poncho and a camera covered in plastic. I have to look at the pictures to see. I saw him in a few but will look it over and publish it if there is anything worth while in the photos. How’s that?

I am definetly more worried about the secondary. Like you said above, the D-Line is getting some more pressure on the QB which means he has less time to throw which in turn means that the secondary isnt forced to cover WRs for as long of a time. So why did Miami light us up so badly? Ill tell you why, they arent good enough plain and simple. Mathis didnt play and Cox seems to be struggling. The rest of them are average at best. Besides getting a new QB in the draft next year, Gene needs to focus on the secondary above all else.

Um… If Ricky Waters ran up the middle of our D-line and almost broke it, then we are in serious trouble.

I felt the same way. Up the middle is not a good place to be weak.
