A little more movement on draft signings

Camp is about to open for all NFL teams and some are getting deals done:

The New England Patriots reached  a five-year deal with first-round cornerback Devin McCourty. Devin was the 27th pick and got almost $8 million in guaranteed money.

Seattle got Golden Tate to sign. Golden was a second round choice and received $1.47 million guaranteed money.

Jimmy Clausen, who was supposed to be a lock at #10 for the Jaguars if other web site editors were drafting, was a second round choice of Carolina and received $2.5 million guaranteed money.

So we have 2 of the 32 first rounders ready for camp. I am hoping for a flurry of signings now and get the full team in pads hitting in 100 degree weather.

Ah; that Jimmy Clausen thing. That will be an ammo for us until the next draft Terry…

About Tyson. I think he will hold out. Sadly. But I think his holdout will be less then 7 days!

Just sign Tyson. He needs to be here tomorrow and get started.

When did it become more common for players to hold out than to sign? It seems like now many teams and players haven’t even started negotiations. We need to get Tyson into camp. We ditched John Henderson, and now Tyson is a guy we HAVE to get acclimated quickly.

I don’t want a 3rd holdout in a row. Let’s hope we aren’t picking in the top ten again next season… yeesh!
