    Jake makes sense on two of his comments: the additions of Kampmann and Morrison.
    Regarding Wilford and Hayward, Ernest has always been a dedicated contributor and there must be something Gene and Jack see in him they didn’t in the other big TEs they released last year. With Reggie, if he is able to return to his pre-injury form, signing him will look like a pretty smart move.
    Now the ugly.
    Replacing coaches??
    Tice and Pola left. Were those positions supposed to remain vacant? Those two are pursuing paths they don’t think are available with the Jags. Good luck to both.
    DE coach? Are you kidding me? 14 sacks and you think it’s unwise to replace the coach to whom most point for our dismal performance in such a critical area? You get no points here.
    Now to my favorite comment.
    Took Alualu too high. Shoulda taken him late second round where Kiper said he should be drafted. Oh, and shoulda just traded back, got a bunch of extra picks and still gotten Alualu, and at a much reduced price.
    I don’t even know where to begin.
    I’ll start here. If you believe Kiper that Alualu would have been available late second round if the Jags hadn’t taken him at 10, you are wrong. Undeniably, without question, sure-as-the-sun-comes-up-in-the-morning wrong.
    Second point. And I’m certainly not the first to acknowledge this, but it seems a lot of people are still under the misbelief that trades will occur if only one team wants to trade. Not true. Here’s my belief: no one would give Gene what he thought was fair value to take the 10 spot.

    I said it once and i’ll say it again. No one wanted to work off of the Crabtree contract from the year before. That’s why the jags couldn’t get value for the trade.
