The Jaguars start out the preseason with a visit to Philadelphia. If Alfie Crow has his way, that would be a return of Donovan McNabb to Philly (but I doubt it). This is a fun game to open with.
Week 2 has those horrid Miami fans visiting Jacksonville. Yuck, those people are so obnoxious. This is actually a good preseason game for the players because Bill Parcells likes to have his team kick hard in preseason. It is worth attending just to see if our line, defensive and offensive, are measuring up.
Week 3 we visit Tampa Bay. If the Jaguars can sell [...]

There is a very positive feeling in the air that Reggie Hayward and the Jaguars have not said their final goodbye. Zoltan tipped me off to this and we will watch closely.
In our view here, Reggie Hayward in a rotation of defensive ends makes a wonderful strength for the Jaguars. If anyone should celebrate, it should be Derrick Harvey.
But that is speculation. Reggie and Gene, please come together. Make this happen.
A New Candidate to Consider
One day someone asked cosmetic executive Estee Lauder what she sells. She replied ”Hope, I sell hope”. That answer feels like what the pre-draft season is as we look at college players. We have looked at top talent and small school talent all in the belief they will come and help propel us to the Championship. Well, I have a new candidate to consider. Think about this…
He played both Safety and Corner back in college. Posted a 4.54 40 speed in the combine (Joe Haden posted a 4.52, Earl Thomas posted a 4.43). He bench pressed 18 times (Eric Berry did 19). A scouting report [...]
[Editor Note: Nothing gets Zoltan more excited than waking from a good Nostradamus like trance and writing what he saw. In this case, he had the Jaguars on his mind and forsaw the future of the draft. Read this entire article, it is an amazingly good piece of work. The only thing is you can't disagree, he has seen the future. Enjoy! Terry]
In the last few weeks I introduced to the readers of Black and Teal 3 defensive ends who are generally considered the best 3 talentwise DEs in this draft. Although all have impressive upside potential, there is something about each of them which [...]
Just some random thoughts
Hello! We have been away for awhile. I had some work done in the home and now have a new wonderful office to write from. Maybe it will inspire! Zoltan is now convinced he has found Derek Cox II for 2010. Tomorrow I will publish his research. I do admire him. From Budapest; Hungary, he has formed relationships with beat writers in Jacksonville and does the best blog research I know of.
Jeanne promised to post another video blog. I hate to bother her, but I do enjoy seeing and hearing from her. She is not only beautiful, she has top end [...]
I know this is a football Jaguar site, but just in case you want to watch a little basketball, hey here is a link. Enjoy! (Terry)

[Editor Note: Arthur Hardie weighs in on David Garrard. He shares my opinion, it is easy to blame the quarterback. It is also intellectually lazy to do so. David Garrard is a fine quarterback and if he had a supporting cast, watch out! Well, let's let Arthur tell his story. The picture is from YardBarker]
Let’s hear the complaints.
He overthrows receivers. True. Open receivers sometimes go unnoticed. True. He holds the ball too long, increasing the opportunity for fumbles. True.
Now, let’s hear the accolades.
He’s as tough as nails. True. He can throw homing missiles. True. He’s mobile. True. His team believes in [...]
A Football Players Life
Soon we will be hearing about rookies getting $10 million, $20 million, $40 million dollar signing bonuses or guaranteed money. I know I will hear about high paid spoiled players and how they aren’t worth it. I know I am going to hear this.
For me, with few exceptions, a football player is someone I never regret hearing about being paid. Coaches yes, players, no. I can’t think of a worse occupation than professional football. Not for the time they play, for the time after the game and they are left on their own.
Let me real honest. Most football players did not excel in [...]
What is fun about pre-draft is everyone has an opinion and everyone thinks they are right. I want to write a caution about taking ourselves too seriously. The guy who disagrees with you just might be right. Be careful about getting too wrapped up in it all, this is the fun season so enjoy it. If someone likes Tim Tebow, tell him “good for you”. If someone thinks C.J. Spiller will be the number one player selected, say “You might be right”.
Here is the truth, no one knows all 200 college players that will be selected. No one has watched [...]
[Editor note: Zoltan strikes again and he believes he is closer to striking at the heart of Gene Smith]
So, since the last time I did a scout report, the Jaguars signed 2-time Pro Bowler DE Aaron Kampman which means most likely Gene Smith doesn’t need to hurry and draft a defensive end with the 10th pick. Meanwhile he said that this draft is loaded with talent on the defensive line, especially at tackle. I did a report on UCLA DT Brian Price but we concluded he might be a little bit of a reach at 10. (If the Jaguars can trade down then he and Mike [...]
