Maurice Jones-Drew Suffers “Shin Contusion”

During the Jaguars final preseason game last night, Maurice Jones-Drew suffered what is being called a shin contusion or a bone bruise.  Here is how Jack Del Rio described it:

“I think he took a good shot there, got a bruise, X-rays were negative, all that stuff.  He’ll probably be a little sore, but he’ll be OK.  I think he was frustrated more than anything that the guy [Fred Smoot] went low there.  I think he wanted to get his hands on him if he could.  He’ll be OK.”

The word from Jaguars beat writer Michael Wright on Twitter is that there is a precautionary MRI scheduled for today.  For now Jags fans and Fantasy owners can breathe a sigh of relief.
