Even though we drafted for value in this draft, we got players that we needed as well. It worked out well! :)

I completely agree with you about Garrard. It didn't help that there wasn't a weapon in the backfield to help relieve some of the pressure off the offensive line.

I think this draft is the start of drafting value over need. The Jags may not make the playoffs this year but, if this type of drafting continues they should be perinial playoff contenders.

I also think Garrards season was effected by the injuries on the offensive line. It is not easy to throw off your back and the play action pass goes away when the running game is shutdown.

I think the Jags could win atleast 10 games. I believe the Jags are better than all but the Cards in the NFC West and better than all but New England in the AFC East. So that's six wins. Two more against the Browns and the Chiefs. If they split against the division that would put them at 11-5.

I think a weak schedule this season helps make the Jags look better than would appear to be on paper. Of course the NFC West and AFC East could be stronger than I believe and then it's a long season in Jacksonville and the "Draft Tebow" chants will be around in the beginning of December.

I can't say I haven't done it myself. Then you have to take a deep breath and realize that your seventh round draft pick would probably feel pretty good being a back up. Sure, you find a few diamonds in the later rounds but that is a rare thing.
