Jaguars Announce New Uniforms

Posted by: Jeanne

Today at noon, the Jaguars will be announcing their new uniforms. There have been a lot of speculations to what the new uniforms will look like and the fans will finally get to see what all the hubbub was about.

Now we know.

The teal with white pants are the home uniforms. The white jerseys with black pants are the away uniforms.

Here are some pictures capped from the live stream by myself:

There is also a new helmet, which incorporates new paint technology to make it glimmer and shine.

And a new logo

The Jaguars kept repeating the words “classic” and “timeless” when trying to describe what they were going for. Already I have heard complaints of the uniforms being too boring (and they were just announced ten minutes ago) but I think the Jaguars got exactly what they were going for.

    Wow – totally UNDERWHELMED !!

They helmets with the flecks are pretty nice but the jersy is rather blah escepcially the away ones. Why not go with straight teal numbers on the black

All the technical stuff was very cool – a lot better for the players. But the actual look is not all the great.

As they said it is very simple and straightforward

  2. 2. Bo Says:

Wow. Way to go and mess up possibly the best uniform in the league. I almost fell asleep looking at those things. The helmet is cool as long as it still looks mostly black.

The away jersey I think is an awesome idea. The black and white. Seeing as teal is basically known as Jacksonville teal now, it should only be worn there. But the font sucks reeeeaaally bad. No gold trim anymore?

Its not that these jersey’s are bad. Its just that if these were the old ones than the real old ones would look like an improvement. You can tell reebok made these because they’re so dull.

  3. 3. mp Says:

thanks for posting that – the live stream at jaguars.com wouldn’t work with my mac. I think its good that they did away with some of the over the top stripes and letter shadow etc. I’d like to see an all white throwback with tea numbers ala 1997.

  4. 4. Joe G. Says:

The uniforms SUCK!!!The other ones were fine. This is just a dad-blame marketing scheme.

  5. 5. Brandon S. Says:

Seriously, everyone is bad talking these new uniforms? Grow up, there’s nothing wrong with them at all! They look great and I like what they’re trying to do. I honestly hated it when I wouldn’t know what uniforms they would decide to wear from week to week. It’s a good change, there’s nothing anyone can do about it; everyone get used to it.

  6. 6. joe Says:

Any time a team decides to get new uniforms is always a disaster, the jaguars had great home, road and alternate jerseys and i think there helmet design is second to none in all the nfl. Brandon S. you are right there is nothing wrong with them besides the fact that they are boring, bland and possibly the worst in the nfl next to the texans, chargers and vikings. As far as the technology? who cares? great for the players but who cares about the players, they are paid millions of dollars to play and if they have to feel the heat a little more for the old jerseys then so be it.

  7. 7. DR Says:

I’m a die hard Steelers fan, and I personally thought Jacksonville HAD the best uniforms in the league. Definitely among the most intimidating. Along with Pittsburgh and Baltimore. They definitely ruined them. Now it’s one of the ugliest uniforms along with Tampa Bay and Seattle. The helmet is an awful idea as well. What are they thinking? They look like an NFL Europe team now.

  8. 8. davedallasfan Says:

always like the teal and tan/gold. why always black? to many teams are doing the black thing and it is making a lot of the uniforms drabb. you guys used to be one of the more colorful uni’s of the league, now i think it just gets lost in the black shuffle. teams like us in dallas; blue/silver, and you in jacksonville;teal/tan, tampa with the pewter/scarlet, miami with the auqua/orange…….set themselves apart from the rest of the league in class and style. why would anyone want to look like some other team? black has been done already. the raiders are the only real black regarded team. it’s there’s let them have it. stick to your teal/tan and be proud of it.

  9. 9. Matt Says:

There so plain they have nothing to do with a jaguar at all why would they take out the main color of a jaguar the teal should be a little darker like the old old jerseys when i look at them the first thing that comes to my mind is the Jacksonville jaguars are plain and boring.

  10. 10. Fred Says:

Home unis and the new helmet look great, while the away scheme leaves much to be desired. They should have just done the complete opposite, playing up the teal identity on the road as in teal pants, white jerseys, teal letters and numbers.

  11. 11. Fester Says:

I don’t like the new uniforms. I especially don’t like the underarm stripe. I think it makes them too modern looking and will go out of style quickly. I thought last year’s uniform was fine. It was a classic design that would have lasted through time. They should have just kept it and stuck with one uniform combination for away games and one for home games. That would have solved the identity problem. But we are stuck with them now, so might as well get use to them. I can’t see myself buying one though. I will just stick with wearing a teal t-shirt to the games.

  12. 12. dr thompson Says:

ughhhh these uniforms are so boring. Why ruin one of the best uniforms I think in all of professional sports. I loved the black jerseys and the all black uniforms too! DAMN!

  13. 13. jeremybaldwin Says:

I find it pretty surprising that people seem to be coming saying our old uniforms were some of the best in the league.

    Really?

Trust me when I say this that outside of Jax no one liked the old uniforms.

Personally I think the new ones are simple but in a good way. No more dumb walking Jaguar. No more faded gold on the jerseys.

Just black and teal with some white.

The more I look at the Road uniforms the more I like them.

  14. 14. Chris Says:

I was very skeptical at first, but after looking at them several times throughout the day, I have to say I like them. Sorry for those of you who think it’s boring, but it’s simple, clean, and defines an organization trying to start a new era. Well done.

  15. 15. Matt Says:

You know what after looking at more pics im really starting to like them well the away jerseys the home jerseys i don’t know the helmets look sick i like them a lot its gona look crazy on the field when the lights hit them i still wish the jerseys had gold in them and the sleeves need something on them

  16. 16. Andy C Says:

Why did they do away with the crawling cat on the sleeves? that was one of the best parts about the jerseys. They should have gone with a little teal in the away jerseys and pants. The black numbers are just boring. Should have gone with Teal jersey with black pants for home, and white jersey with teal/white pants for away. The helmet is nice that I do give them. Oh well we usually don’t like a team for their uniforms its all about the way they play.

  17. 17. Gil G Says:

WOW THE EAGLES FINALLY GOT NEW JERSEYS?!!!!!!

Good for them! I always hated their font…. wait… This is the Jacksonville Jaguars??????

EPIC FAIL! What happened to the teal in the away jerseys and the gold? They look like the effing Eagles! Great, now we have two jerseys like that roaming around in the NFL!

  18. 18. JJ Says:

    stop complaining.. they are fine.
    i personally love them.

  19. 19. davedallasfan Says:

where’s the gold, why did they get rid of the main accent color????????

  20. 20. Dillon Says:

OMG whomever is in charge should be shot. I really liked the old uni’s you had I thought they were pretty tight. Well since I’m from San Diego I still love ours the best, but you all just took two large steps backwards and that is not good. Now after the chargers I would have to say I like Bucs and Ravens you all would have been in the top 3-4 but now just about dead last, sorry.

  21. 21. Braden Says:

    this is to JeremyBaldwin…

you say no one outisde of Jax liked the old uniforms? read the rest of these posts. People from all over liked them better. We actually did have some of the best uniforms in the league, now…not so much. They’re plain and boring.

the other ones were nicer. although we’ll have to get used to hese, I can see myself liking them better, they are kind of cool, but they are VERY VERY plain.

  22. 22. davedallasfan Says:

where’s the gold???? why get rid of gold and go to black……come on get more gold on em…..that’s the best accent color you guys could have had. black is blah…..raiders steelers now ravens….street thugs will love this….more black for the gangs. guess thats how you sell apparrell now a days in the nfl. appeal to the thugs and go black.

  23. 23. davedallasfan Says:

you want a great color scheme. teal jersys with gold pants. same new helmet would look great. the away jersys white shirt, teal #’s with black outline, and gold pants. now that would look sharp and give more of that “JAG” look to match the gold jag on the new helmets. i do like the helmets. just think gold would be the pants. the flash of color is missing these days in the nfl. everything is downplayed to deep colors or black. remember the sandiego powder blue and yellow days. love it. still like the miami auqua, although now they are letting in the darker blue. miss those denver orange jersys……what the hell happened to color in the nfl……….BLACK????????? COME ON

  24. 24. Thomas Says:

What Jacksonville should have done is keep the teal somewhere in the away jersey and use a jaguar color scheme in the numbers, like cinci having the tiger stripes on there strips, but the the helmet looks great its a really good look.

  25. 25. Jeanne Says:

There is teal in the away jerseys, it is on the strips and around the lettering and numbering.

Gold was never a big color, Dave. Black and Teal were always the main colors (hence the name of the blog) and gold was just kinda there as an accent. Throwing in gold pants would have been losing our identity entirely. The gold is in the Jaguar. That is the only spot it was intended to be in.

I have a new jersey sitting right next to an old jersey on my bed right now. They are the same exact teal, if any one was wondering.

  26. 26. Luckychuck777 Says:

Well, well, well, I’m waitng to see the new uniforms. Has anyone seen them yet? I sure haven’t

Oh, wait the it the helmet! Now that’s pretty cool. Home uniform, hows about black pants with that teal jersey there. Home team use the home colors Teal and Black. The gold was always a good accent color.

The away uniforms, hmmmm, I don’t know, It’s a good look but with the new helmet scheme I don’t think it will fit well.

Oh well, just my humble opinion.

  27. 27. Mike M Says:

Pretty disappointing. I think they went too simple. They should have polled the fans. I guarantee I won’t be buying a new jersey anytime soon.

It’s funny Wayne actually said black jerseys and white pants. I was thrilled, then I saw it was the opposite…..bummer.

  28. 28. davedallasfan Says:

i still say the gold would have been the way to go.the gold looks fantastic on your blog face

  29. 29. davedallasfan Says:

jeanne, i’m looking at the side stripes of your blog background right now and the bold teal and black stripes look great, but the intriging color that stands out is the gold stripe. i studied art in high school and have worked with an interior design team in the past. my point is that accent colors can become more dominant when used in the right scheme. black is traditionally an accent color, not a dominant one. unfortunately the nfl has seen to adopt the color for it’s main on several teams in the past couple of years. i think it gets a little “gang” oriented when you see this trend. it’s supposed to be a “manly” color. well the point i’m trying to make is the nfl has lost it’s color palet. what happened to the fantastic color schemes that used to be the nfl. we have lost the pagentry that was assosiated with the game. when i go to a stadium i love the color and the bright attention it draws your eye to. it just adds to the total game experience. the packers just glow with the green and yellow. miami is amazing with the auqua and orange. i saw the denver orange on the field before. wow. i took my youngest daughter to a viking/ cowboy game in the metro dome in minneapolis. the first thing she said when the players took the field was,”wow, look at the colors dad, the vikings are really bright purple!” it made her eyes light up and she was hooked ever since. this is lost with all the blah, gang black. hate it. love the days when sandiego had bright blue and yellow. i just think jax missed a great opportunity to add some excitement back to the pagentry of their game.

“There is also a new helmet, which incorporates new paint technology to make it glimmer and shine.”

That new paint technology is called “glitter.” It’s all the rage among teenage girls.

They’re fine. Have they thought about an alternate jersey yet (like our throwbacks)? If they made that in a gold, it’d sell like hotcakes.

  31. 31. Jeanne Says:

They aren’t doing alternatives. The whole point was that the Jaguars had way, waaaay too many uniform modifications and there wasn’t a cohesive look. There is the teal uniform. Their is the while uniform. That is it. The gold will only be found in the Jaguar itself.

  32. 32. chad brown Says:

I hate these new uniforms they suck!! there boring and look like the eagles!! i kinda like the helmet idea idk its ok. But the thing i hate is getting rid of the all black uniforms?!?! that was the best combo ever!! i loved it when they wore them and they were intimidating. the jags had the best uniforms in the league but they just ruined it!! and they dont even have the jag on the shoulder or gold!! STUPID!! THEY ARE BORING!! identity crisis???? now everyone is gonna think there the eagles!!!

  33. 33. SEAN A. Says:

You fans may hate me but I am a cowboys fan. Jerry has done everything he can to go navy blue on us Cowboys fans. Hats, t-shirts, everything it is ugly as hell. Yea, what happened to the NFLs colors? Jerry needs to bring back the old royal blue jerseys instead of that crap he brings out as a throwback, which, was royal blue and not dark dark dark navy blue….what a moron. Love the new Jag helmet! wonder if they will make the same color shift on the minni helmet?

  34. 34. DD Says:

unreal how you people can make the biggest deal out of this. the uni’s are essentially the same. what a bunch of homers you guys are. start talking it up when you really have made a change. I love the picture captioned “the new logo”. looks like the same old logo as always. and really?? the most intimidating uni’s in the league??

  35. 35. Sean Says:

Excellent. Clean, simple, and classic. Five uniforms was a bit much. Focus on winning games, not on which uniform you’re going to wear.
