BREAKING: Jags Close To Signing Torry Holt

Posted by: jeremybaldwin

ESPN’s Chris Mortenson is reporting that the Jacksonville Jaguars are close to finalizing a deal with Torry Holt.  Since it is ESPN reporting this, expect this to actually happen.

Holt would immediately become the Jaguars number one receiver going into the draft where they could potentially pick up a young receiver to learn under him.  Whether or not the Jaguars hold on to the 8th pick or trade down is anyone’s guess but the recent buzz has been that the Jaguars are looking to trade back  to get extra picks.

Look for a full fledged post dedicated to predraft Jaguars rumors coming in the next few days along with a revised Mock Draft (stupid Eagles trade!).

This is a smart move by a team that hasn’t had a good receiver in years. He will provide leadership to the new receiver that I am sure they will draft.
