Week 17 Preview: Jacksonville Jaguars @ Baltimore Ravens

Finally.  The Jaguars disappointing 2008 season will be coming to a close after a trip to Baltimore that means everything to the Ravens and nothing to the Jaguars.  The Ravens are 12 1/2 point favorites and rightfully so, they have not allowed any team to score more than 13 points at home this season.  With all of the players on IR and Maurice Jones-Drew questionable,  the Jaguars may have to depend on David Garrard and a passing game that has struggled all season to put points on the board.  I hate to sound like a pessimist but I don’t like our chances at scoring against one of the best defenses in the league at home, with the playoffs on the line.

The Jaguars defense has played better over the last 2 weeks, particularly against the run.  But that was against Green Bay and Indy who have struggled to get the run going all season.  Baltimore comes into this game with a two headed running attack that ripped the Cowboys to shreds last week, particularly the two late big runs that finished them off.  See video evidence:

My prediction: Jaguars 10 – Ravens 24
