Joey Porter and everyone else who critized the Matt Jones situation can finally shut their mouthes; the NFL has upheld it’s 3 game suspension of Matt Jones and he will miss the rest of the season without pay. So the Jaguars suprising leading receiver is leaving just as the Jags passing game had one of it’s most disappoitning weeks ever. Who will Garrard throw to now? Reggie Williams? Jerry Porter? More than likely he will continue to dump the ball of to Jones Drew and throw the eight yard out route to Marcedes Lewis. Sigh. These next three weeks are probably going to be very painful for Jaguar fans but on the bright side at least we weren’t in a playoff run when we lost Matt Jones.

Jeanne, do you find it strange that Matt Jones gets 3 games for booger sugar and all those players that tested positive for those other banned substances got 4-game suspensions? Something just doesn’t add up there.
The banned substances thing is a little different because they are usually performance enhancing drugs, which affects game play and gives you advantages over others. Coke doesn’t enhance your performance on the field.
I don’t think they were performance enhancers though. If I remember right, they were diuretics that got players’ water weight down so they could collect fitness bonuses. They don’t have an effect on the players when they’re on the field. They’re just water pills. Water pills carrying less of a sentence than blow is weird.
yeah, but is this it with the jones situation? i thought the suspention was for the findings of the hearing and that further ramifications could be coming when his trial is held. like a 1 year sus.??? maybe i all wrong here, but thats what i thought
He isn’t having a trial because he came to an agreement with the court. He is a first time offender with a huge probationary period. This is the first time Matt has ever messed up and so the law, and the NFL, is a little more lenient.
thanks for the info jeane, i was’nt sure. i know plaxico is’nt done yet. they have further hearings on that one too.
