Maurice Jones-Drew Nominated For Fed-Ex Ground Player Of The Week
For the second time this year, Maurice Jones-Drew was nominated for the Fed-Ex Ground Player of the Week. The last time he was nominated, he won and 1,000 dollars was donated to the local Safe Kids coalition. Mojo is going up against the likes of the New York Jets’ Thomas Jones and the Minnesota Vikings’ Adrian Peterson.
A look at the competition:
New York Jets’ THOMAS JONES rushed for 149 yards and three
touchdowns on 26 carries in the Jets’ 47 – 3 win over the St.
Louis Rams.Jacksonville’s MAURICE JONES-DREW posted three touchdowns on
three consecutive possessions rushing 11 times for 70 yards in the
Jaguars’ 38 – 14 win over the Detroit Lions.Minnesota’s ADRIAN PETERSON rushed for 192 yards and one
touchdown on 30 attempts in the Vikings’ 28 – 27 win over the
Green Bay Packers.
If you’re not going for the homer vote, it could be a tough call. I want to eliminate Thomas Jones from my list because, really… the Rams? But you’d have to use the same logic with Maurice’s three touchdowns against the Lions. If I was being entirely honest here, Adrian Peterson probably deserves it more because he was close to 200 yard against a better team than both Maurice Jones-Drew and Thomas Jones.
But who needs honesty? Safe Kids in Jacksonville needs 1,000 dollars!
You can vote for Maurice here.

Yea he definately deserved the ground player of the week. Anyway, I thin k that as soon as Fred Taylor retires and Maurice takes over that the Jaguars will have found a potential hall oof famer. I mean its only week 10 and he has 9 touchdowns, he doesn’t even start. We need a new deep threat reciever though.
